Cone Bay Saltwater Barramundi exhibit characteristics like no other barramundi in the world. This is quite simply because there is no other location like Cone Bay in the world.

Every day, as part of scenic flights out of Broome in North Western Australia, high net-worth tourists fly over Cone Bay, gaze down at Turtle Island and inevitably ask the pilot about those strange 'water circles.' The extremely remote island sits amid the world-renowned Buccaneer Archipelago, comprised of some 1100 picturesque and unspoilt islands. The 'water circles' are in fact MPA's polar sea-cages and the grow-out habitat of the totally unique 'Cone Bay' Saltwater Barramundi.

On the island, and at the perfect time of their development, hand reared fingerlings are delicately shifted to the seacages where they will reach entry-market size at around six months. A twice daily racing tide, ranging between seven and eleven metres rips through the bay - meaning that Cone Bay Barramundi are always at work - which to the buyer's advantage, results in an animal that is terrifically robust and, externally, in absolutely brilliant condition.

The taste is exceptional, the texture perfect and the overall quality of product is consistently wonderful. Our unique ranching programme, which has the potential to produce up to eighteen hundred tonnes of product per annum, guarantees buyers an annual, on demand, supply of branded Cone Bay Saltwater Barramundi from five hundred grams through to seven kilograms.

Saltwater Barramundi is without doubt Australia's iconic fish. Through strategic positioning, product development and global demand for a top-shelf product, MPA is without doubt the world's flagship producer of this highly prized species.
